Bridges are a series of crowns linked together. They would usually be used for patients who need several teeth replaced. In order to prepare patients for a bridge, two of their teeth would have to be reshaped so that the crowns at either end of the bridge would fit over them. For this reason, dentists were historically reluctant to use bridges on people who only needed a few teeth replaced. However, modern bridges can be made as dentures that skirt healthy teeth.


If a tooth is lost, replacing its crown helps to maintain jaw stability. But there is a greater benefit to replacing the root, as well. Bridges do not always need to be supported by natural teeth. They can also be supported by implants and may be permanent or removable.

Smoking With Sleep Apnea

Smoking will exacerbate any respiratory condition, and it is proven to cause snoring and lead to obstructive sleep apnea.  Patients struggling with sleep apnea should come see Dr. Jia Lee for evaluation.
